Baptism
Membership and Ritual
Baptism makes us members of the Church and embodies our new life as followers of Jesus Christ.
What is a “sacrament”?
In the Anglican Church, a sacrament is an outward and visible sign of an inward, invisible grace. Grace comes to us through Jesus, who transforms us by helping us know God’s love.
Baptizing Your Child
When your children are baptized, you commit to nurturing them in the Christian life and faith and helping them follow Christ’s example. If you are interested in exploring or making this commitment, please contact Reverend Shelly.
Getting Baptized Yourself
When baptized as an adult, you commit to living as a member of the Church and fulfilling its promises and responsibilities. If you are interested in learning more about baptism for yourself, please contact Reverend Shelly.
Confirmation
If you were baptized as a child, you can reaffirm your commitment to the Church at a later age in a service of confirmation. If you would like to learn more about the confirmation process, please contact Reverend Shelly.
Weddings
Marriage preparation is an opportunity to grow spiritually as a couple. For more information about marriage preparation and wedding fees, please contact the church office.
Funerals and Memorial Services
It is an honour to help you mourn and celebrate the life of your loved ones. If you are interested in holding a funeral or memorial service at St. Martin’s, you can contact Reverend Shelly or ask a funeral home to contact her for you.
