Rev. Alison Falby
Alison Falby became the incumbent of St. Martin’s in 2013. Born and raised in Toronto, she taught undergraduate history before following her call to the priesthood. A lifelong learner, she has taken classes in photography, church architecture, and stand-up comedy. She welcomes opportunities to talk about or listen to your faith questions. While studying for her M.Div. at Trinity College, Alison also taught there and worked in the drop-in at All Saints Church-Community Centre in Toronto’s Moss Park. Ordained priest in March 2012, she did her curacy at St. Nicholas’ in Birch Cliff, and at Havergal College, where she served as chaplain to the Junior School. In addition to her M.Div., Alison holds a B.A. in History and Philosophy (McGill University), and a D.Phil. in Modern History (Oxford).
Gary Heard was appointed Music Director at St. Martin’s in June 2017. A talented and experienced choir director, church organist, and singer, his extensive musical accomplishments include thirteen years as a member of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir under the direction of Dr. Elmer Iseler. Mr. Heard conducted the North Toronto Singers for fourteen years, and has led the Serenata Choir of Midland since 1999. We are delighted to welcome him to St. Martin’s!
Gillian Howard became the Office Administrator at St. Martin’s in 2014. A lifelong Anglican, she is also a professional musician and holds Masters degrees in Historical Performance and in Musicology. She sings with Schola Magdalena, teaches oboe, and plays modern and Baroque oboe with a variety of orchestras.
Ruby Sealy became St. Martin’s Youth Minister in Fall 2016. She grew up at St. Martin’s, attending Sunday school and serving as an acolyte. She has a passion for making church a safe and welcoming space for young people.
