The Rev. Fr. Jeffry Kennedy, Interim Priest-in-Charge
Fr. Jeffry Kennedy is excited to be involved with the St. Martin’s community at this important moment in its history. He is also enthusiastic to be a part of a progressive, inclusive and active parish family that St. Martin’s is known to be.
Currently serving as an Honorary Assistant Priest at St. Thomas’s, Huron Street, in 2015, Fr. Kennedy was appointed Interim Priest-in-Charge at the Parish of St. Olave’s, Swansea until a new rector was appointed. He has also served at St Clement’s Eglinton, the Parish of Perrytown, St Alban’s, St Matthias Bellwoods as well as Regional Dean of Parkdale.
Born and raised in the Diocese of Huron, Fr. Kennedy was ordained Priest in the Diocese of Toronto in 1986. He studied at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo with a focus in both psychology and music. At Huron College Seminary at the University of Western Ontario, he earned his Master of Divinity.
Fr. Kennedy has faith in the transforming and empowering nature of the parish community in all its diversity. He believes that an integral part of a priest’s role is to enable parish members to identify and develop their own ministries for the building up of the church.
Fr. Jeffry looks forward to sharing in this journey with the St. Martin’s parish family.
